My work is about place. The coast of Maine has been my focus for several years. Recent work is acrylic on 100% rag paper and acrylic on canvas.
I started painting at a young age and received a BFA from Pratt Institute School of Art & Design. After graduating I practiced graphic design in New York City and Portland, Maine. Now I’m focused on my love of creating fine art and I’m thankful to have moved to Down East Maine. Living in Cutler for several years my work has been influenced by all of the natural beauty. I’m also inspired by some of my idols like Paul Klee, Richard Diebenkorn, and Joseph Albers.
My process is to use colors, shapes, and textures that are inspired by nature, music, or design. In the formation of the composition I use these visual elements to create an image that has balance and movement. My visual aesthetic originates from my experiences in natural and built environments.
My work is in private collections, corporate and public spaces, online art galleries Zatista, Saatchi Art, and wholesale art reproductions distributor Image Conscious.
